FLARED AND SQUARED

I think, every woman should have at least a pair of flared pants in her closet.  Why? because this kind of cut does a lot of wonders to the legs; making them appear way longer and thinner.  I like pairing flared trousers with longer shirts though and heels of course.  It just defeats the purpose of wearing this kind of pants if I will just wear flats with it.  I opted for a more smart casual look on this day because sometimes, suits can be really annoying especially on a summer day.

shirtdress from H&M
vest from BERSHKA
pants from HAIDUOYI

BACK TO BLACK AGAIN

I have the tendency to go for unconventional pieces.  I like clothes that are statements by themselves; weird non-traditional cuts and the likes.  In this case, the top's batwing sleeves and cold shoulder cut caught my attention.  And did i say that it is cotton? which is just perfect for this city's unforgiving temperature nowadays.

WHAT I WORE:
black top from HAIDOUYI
maxi dress worn as skirt from COCO CABANA
boots from H&M
necklace from H&M
tassel earrings from H&M

DRESS AND PRINTS

You, my readers, should know by now that I have this fascination with dresses.  I have mentioned time and time again that I only own a few pair of pants for the longest time (the number has grown considerably in the past few years.).  A nice dress is a no-brainer way to pull off a polished look in a few minutes.  Pair it with a soft belted suit the way I used it here and you are ready for work.

WHAT I WORE:
gray belted blazer from H&M CONSCIOUS LINE
printed green dress from H&M
eyewear from MARC JACOBS
serpenti forever top handle bag from BVLGARI
ankle boots from GUESS

CAPE DRAMA

Cape coats have always fascinated me and boy! I was so glad that I found this long cape coat good enough for sweltering hot summer days.  I have other cape coats but they are much thicker and can only be worn during winter.  But this one is just right and it is my new favourite.  I wore this ensemble for a business casual brunch celebration of the Philippine Independence day at the Garden Hotel.  I attended the said function as one of the representatives for the Filipino Architects and Landscape Architects Association of Guangzhou (FALA GZ).  This is the fourth time for me to attend this consulate event but it it quite different this time as I used to represent the photography club I used to head before (FILKAM).

WHAT I WORE:
cape coat from HAIDOUYI
striped dress from H&M
dionysus bag from GUCCI
marlene pumps from ROGER VIVIER
eyewear from MIU MIU

KIMONO KILLER

I have seen this trend spread like wildfire sometime ago but for me, Kimono is more than  just a trend piece.  I believe in its versatility and its ability to transform a rather boring wardrobe into an interesting one.  This kimono added a little brightness and softness to what could have been a tougher look here.  Bringing the kimono in somehow made the outfit a tad more chic and work appropriate.  So peeps, don't be afraid to experiment with trend pieces even if the season is well gone, you can always reinvent it and incorporate it back into your wardrobe.

WHAT I WORE:
kimono from HAIDOUYI
racer back maxi dress from FOREVER 21
ankle boots from H&M
purse from an online shop
eyewear from MIU MIU
fringe earrings from H&M

FRINGED EARTH TONES

I love the versatility of earth tones primarily because it compliments olive skinned toned women like me.  I also have this fascination over fringes because it brings out a little unexpected quirkiness in an otherwise common outfit.  In this outfit, I paired this lovely fringed wrap (which I actually got on great bargain; an unbelievable 20rmb or more or less 200PHP/ 5USD) with my camel culottes and some basic heels.  It is a very light and casual ensemble but most of all, it is just weather appropriate in the sweltering heat that Guangzhou is experiencing lately.  Well, I guess Summer is really almost here.

WHAT I WORE:
fringed wrap from LENON
tank top from H&M
camel culottes from H&M
bronze heels from MASSIMO DUTTI
leather tote from CELINE
eyewear from MARC JACOBS
necklace; bday gift from a friend MINT
beige and brown bangles from WWW
leopard bangle from FOREVER 21
