SUMMER RED

It is just spring out here but I am already looking forward to summer!  Summer is my favourite season because I love wearing summer dresses like the one featured here.  This red printed dress is perfect for those sweltering summer days.  Another thing that I love about summer is that I can get away with a lot of accessories mixed together.  Don't be afraid to mix and match; you can have a go on various sizes and colours too.  Here, I kept my dress and shoes colour coordinated and then I just threw in different colours for accessories.

WHAT I WORE:
red dress from COCO CABANA
wedge sandals from WEST LINK
purse from WWW
blue and orange bangles from WWW
red bangle from FOREVER 21
cyan bead necklace from WWW
seashell necklace from TOPSHOP
earrings from H&M

WHITE AND PRINTS

I like the colour white because of its simplicity and cleanliness.  However, it is difficult for me to wear one as I always end up dirtying it because of my clumsiness especially whenever I eat.  Since most of my day's work today will be in front of the computer,  I decided to wear my white blazer for a change.  This boxy jacket had been with me for quite sometime yet I had only worn it for about 3 or 4 times.  Why so?  the textile is only appropriate for early spring or fall weather primarily because it can be too warm for the summer and too cold for the winter.  I like the shape of it though; that structured geometry that seems to complement dresses and skirts.  I have paired it with an olive green printed dress to liven it up a tad bit.

WHAT I WORE:
boxy white jacket from ZARA
printed olive green dress from H&M
white choker necklace from H&M
bag from an online store
white shoes from BELLE

That red dress and the Harry Potter Cape

Just another outfit shot before I went to work.  I call this my Harry Potter coat because it does look like a sorcerer's outerwear, right?  Kidding aside, this coat is one of my most versatile pieces and it is not expensive at all.  I like the irregular cut so much especially when it is closed which I might feature someday with another style.  As for the red pleated dress, it is actually a sleeveless dress of mine that had been with me for the longest time.  I just put a matching red turtleneck on top of it to keep me warm.  It was a cold day when this was taken.  The apricot coloured bag is a gift from a good friend of mine.

WHAT I WORE:
blue asymmetrical cut cape from an online shop here in China
red pleated dress from MANGO
red turtleneck from ZARA
obi belt from a flea market here in China
apricot and beige tote from NINE WEST
knee high boots from ALDO

And this is how it looks like when its front is closed.  It actually becomes a whole lot of different coat.

and it is very warm, I tested it in Chicago when I went out one night with minimal clothing underneath.

so till the next one!

all the love,

Gold and studs

Even though my profession is in the creative side, there are still times when we are required to don a corporate style every now and then.  This usually happens whenever we have client meetings or regional reviews where all the big bosses will be swarming in our office.  This was one of those days when I had to face a client thus explains the heels and the shift dress.  (and yes, this is a late post)

WHAT I WORE:
SHIFT DRESS from Dunnes
NECKLACE is from my office colleague (bday gift)
BELT from Fashion House
CLUTCH from my daughter's kiddie party lootbag
HEELS from Steve Madden
I love how the gold studs seemed to make the rather classic cut of this shift dress into a more contemporary style.  And the gold belt gives the extra oomph and just change the mood of what could have been a very reserved outfit.

The cuff bracelet and the statement necklace are also part of the blings given to me by my office colleagues.

So that's it folks.   Till the next upload!

Fresh Spring

As you readers may have noticed, I am really biased with this color.  Yellow has always been a mood lifter for me.  I f I want to brighten up my day, I wear yellow and voila, I'm all cheerful and happy.  I bought this yellow sundress along with my other maxi dresses for the supposed beach trip(that keeps getting postponed because of my hectic schedule and deadlines) that we planned for May.  It has been in my closet for a while now so I thought why keep such a beautiful bright dress in the dark?  so I wore it today since it is mother's day anyway. another reason to be bright and happy about.

WHAT I WORE:
Bohemian Maxi dress from Boracay Girls (online shop here in China)
ochre flats from China Bazaar
shoulder bag:Louis Vuitton (a hand me down from my gorgeous aunt )
earrings:forever 21
silver bracelet:forever 21
yellow bracelet:WWW

The photo was taken at  Shamian Island, a  tourist district here in Guangzhou which features European architecture.

Spring flower

Mr. sun has been elusive lately so when I saw that it is bright outside, I was more than happy.  this dress has been in my closet for several weeks now and I have been itching to wear it a long time ago but the weather just would not cooperate with me.  I love how this dress seems so light, airy and girly.  Paired with the right accessories, it is almost like bringing the beach into the city (oh yeah, that's the beach bum in me speaking).

WHAT I WORE:
frilly mullet dress: Miss and She HK
blue jelly thongs: Sergio Rossi "cleo"
bag:Forever 21
sunglasses:Prada mini baroque
earrings:H&M
necklace:WWW
bangles:MCI (gift from a friend)
