Coronado Island

It was not officially summer yet when we went to this beautiful Coronado Island.  It was a tad cold but thank heavens for the sun's warmth in spite of the chilly winds.  Coronado is definitely my vibe and I like it more than the other beaches we had visited here in SoCal throughout the summer.  And of course, me, being the summer girl that I am, was more than ready to start wearing all my summer clothes.

When I was a lot younger and thinner, I used to be so self-conscious of wearing cropped tops.  Being an Asian and growing up in a predominantly conservative culture in the Philippines during my time, showing your belly is not always appropriate.  Fast forward to the present and after residing outside the Phil for quite a while, my body views have changed a lot.  I am more comfortable now with what I am given with and I will wear what I want especially if I know that it works for me.

So here I am wearing my bikini top as part of my ensemble and I don't really give a helluva of a damn if I am not slim enough to rock this top.  I made it work somehow by wearing a high-waisted pants. Girls, don't be afraid to experiment on some style with your body type.  Having a fuller body built does not mean that you are limited to wearing big- sized tees and dresses. You just have to know and see for yourself what looks good on you and your body. Always remember to love what is given to you and surely enough, self care and confidence altogether exude beauty too.

WHAT I WORE:
cropped bikini top from COCOBEACH
striped pants from H&M
sneakers from CONVERSE (JACK PURCELL)
bag from STEVE MADDEN
hat from H&M

COACHELLA RED

So yeah, weekend 1 of Coachella is already a wrap. And yet here I am, still dreaming of it, especially when I have loads of work to do at the office.  Bohemian fashion and good music? what is not to like about this festival, right?  I have always loved the relaxed Boho style.  It is artsy and quirky at the same time.  I love the idea of mixing and matching stuffs that may seem weird to combine at first glance...well like print on prints.  In this ensemble, I've fearlessly combined a multicoloured floral print with a geometric monochromatic printed and cropped top. I would usually wear only one loud print at a time but hey, this is a Coachella series so this is very much acceptable; in fact, this is still subtle.  Moreover, what is a Coachella without fringes and tassels right? and you can clearly see that my fringe and tassel game is strong. :)  Festival season also gives you the right to use unconventional accessories like using a scarf as an ankle wrap for some edgy bohemian vibe.

WHAT I WORE:
floral outerwear from H&M
cropped top from H&M
denim gray shorts (used to be my pants) from GUESS JEANS
boots from H&M
tassel earrings from H&M
bag from 3.1 PHILIP LIM

PALM SPRINGS DREAMIN'

While everyone is at the Coachella event this weekend, here I am dreaming of the desert ; of Palm Springs and the music.  Coachella would have been great for a fashion and music enthusiast like me.  I would have gone if I don't have to think about work or the fambam.  And since I am not there physically, then I would just rather celebrate the event through clothing style, of course!  So here is the first of my Coachella series and if you have been following my insta, then I already gave a glimpse of some of the styles I came up with.  Watch out for the details of those in my upcoming blogposts.

So for this look, I love the bohemian print of this jumpsuit and if only it isn't a jumpsuit, I would wear this to work most of the time.  No, I don't have an aversion towards jumpsuits, in fact, I usually love it.  But I wouldn't wear it to work because it can be a nuisance when you are in a hurry in the loo. :-)   Paired it with a flowy top that I used as an outerwear here.  Since my prints are quite loud already, I opted for a solid hue to make the jumpsuit color pop.

WHAT I WORE:
jumpsuit from H&M
flowy top used as an outerwear from FOREVER 21
pandora bag from GIVENCHY
eyewear from MINISO
boots from H&M

earrings and bangles H&M

GRAY AT THE CORRIDOR

An ensemble I chose for strolling and exploring more of Hong kong.  It is comfy enough for long walks and light for the weather too.  Keeping everything monochromatic and simple seem to work for this outfit and make everything easy on the eye.  The loose silhouette of the inner top is complimented by the structured flowing lines of the vest.

WHAT I WORE:
checkered inner shirtdress as top from FRIENDSHIP MALL
vest from COAT TRADING AND CO
culottes from H&M
shoes from FOREVER 21 online shop
soho disco bag from GUCCI

DISNEY RED

Yup, you saw it right people, that is Disney right on this blog's title.  And as the title goes, this was what I wore during a Disneyland fambam stroll.  One thing I had to consider when choosing my clothes for this day was comfort especially for walking long distances.  I opted for the backless top because it was definitely hot that day and the culottes, because it is cotton and very comfy.  I like the surprise element of the shirt because it seems to be a normal top when viewed from the front and then becomes racier when viewed from the back.  Flat shoes is a must for me when I know that I would be walking a lot.  I am still amazed by women who can go on standing and walking the whole day wearing heels.  I will be probably be mental by the end of the day if I would be on heels like that.  Usually, my general mantra is if I am showing a lot of skin on top, I will be covering most of my lower  part.  You will seldom catch me wearing backless and shorts at the same time unless I am going to the beach; or traveling for a tropical vacation.

WHAT I WORE:
backless top from H&M
culottes from H&M
Shoes from FOREVER 21 online shop
bag from PHILIP LIM
bangles from H&M
eyewear from MIUMIU

JEANS AND STUDS

The advantage of working in a creative setting is that I don't really need to be suited and dress to the nines everyday for it.  There are times when I can just be laid back, well in terms of clothing of course! not work.  Today is one of those days when I am not really in the mood to power dress at all.  Jeans can work in the office especially if it is in a darker color.  I paired it with a loose-fit outerwear and a tie-front tunic.  Since it is not so cold, I thought I should give my knee high boots a rest and wear some ankle boots instead.  I love this boots  because it has an inner heels inside of it just like the other Marant Beckett sneakers.  It gives the added height; not that I need it but this one is really comfortable in spite of the couple of inches wedge heels.

WHAT I WORE:
tie-front tunics from PULL AND BEAR
black outer wear from ZARA
skinnies from H&M
boots from ISABEL MARANT

SWEATER WEATHER

This weather is driving me crazy.  Just when I thought it will be continously warm because heck!it is already spring, it suddenly dropped again. I only had two hours of sleep and the weather makes it harder to get out of bed.  The only consolation I have is that the sun is out today; a far cry from the gloomy rainy weather these past few days. I had to bring out this fuzzy sweater again (well, I have three of this...the danger of soeed online shopping folks!) .  I will still be doing lots of drawings again today so I have to be comfortable and besides it is Friyay Friday anyway.  I paired it with a classic colored culottes and knee high boots for warmth.  The scarf is a handy accessory especially when the weather drops even lower.  Who knows what can happen with this bipolar weather, yeah?

WHAT I WORE:
black and white skull print sweater from an online shop
Gray culottes from H&M
Boots from ALDO
scarf from SHIQIAO THRIFT SHOP
Large Pandora messenger bag from GIVENCHY
eyewear from MINISO
