MONDAY BLUES

Blues and print are just right for my Monday.  I have a full day ahead of me and it is just the first day of the week.  I opted to put a smart casual ensemble primarily because Monday is usually internal office meeting day; meaning, team leaders and resourcing managers usually meet to discuss team resourcing, projects and office management stuffs.  It isn't a formal meeting but still, I don't want to attend it wearing something so casual and "weekendish".

The top is actually my kiddo's top and yeah we do share clothes and shoes from time to time. The skirt is actually a summer dress that I have bought in US. I tried to break the monotony of the navy blue hues by adding a little black; a subtle deviation but nevertheless anchor the whole ensemble into a casual yet work wearable palette.

WHAT I WORE:
navy blue coat from an online store
printed blue top from H&M
dress used as skirt from URBAN OUTFITTERS
boots from ALDO

GRAY VERSATILITY

One of the things I look out for whenever I buy clothes is versatility.  I love thinking about endless possibilities of mixing and matching as well as how one clothe can transform to different function and styles. This gray dress from Victoria Beckham is one of it.  I think I have featured this in my blog already as one of my chosen empowering clothes in my powerdress series.  Now, I am featuring it as an outerwear.  The top to bottom back zipper allows it to look like a coat when you turn it around the other way.  I am not sure if it is meant to be used that way as well but I did it anyway. I paired it with a basic shift dress and off I go to another client presentation meeting again today.

WHAT I WORE:

black shift dress from ZARA
maroon turtleneck from H&M
scarf from GIVENCHY
knee high boots from ALDO
black structured bag from NINE WEST

MEETING READY

Being a landscape architect, I usually go to client meetings to present my design ideas for projects that I am in charge of.  Today is one of those days when I have to dress up more in a business manner.  This furry gray coat never fails to empower me; you know, that unexplainable thing when your clothes affect the way you act and carry yourself the whole day.  Well, this is that "thing" for me.  I love the softness of it and the belted waist.  My inner outfit is more simple so as to complement the statement outer wear.  As I have mentioned in my older posts, I usually keep my work wear simple and then I throw in a statement piece for interest and pizzazz.

WHAT I WORE:
gray faux fur coat from WAREHOUSE
colorblock turtleneck top from SASHA TENORIO
black plants feom ZARA
Wedged heels booties from H&M
eyewear from MIU MIU
trapeze bag from CELINE
