ORANGE PICKING AT PAUMA VALLEY

I had the chance to visit a large orange orchard when I was in SoCal; and when I say large, it means a really....really massive farm that stretches from the valley up to the mountain.  We even had to ride the car just to reach some of the orange and lemon groves from the farm house.  I dared not to go up the mountain because I am not built for mountains anymore.  Sometimes, I could not even believe that I used to hike a lot when I was a whole lot younger.

The farm is owned by the lovely Uncle Ben and Aunt Marge Burgos, who hosted a sumptuous lunch for us as well.  The kids enjoyed the trip and frolicked around the "not-so-friendly to adults with back problems" areas.  The adults on the other hand enjoyed picking oranges, lemons, tangerines and blood oranges.  We even got to bring home a rather huge pumpkin!

FLARED AND SQUARED

I think, every woman should have at least a pair of flared pants in her closet.  Why? because this kind of cut does a lot of wonders to the legs; making them appear way longer and thinner.  I like pairing flared trousers with longer shirts though and heels of course.  It just defeats the purpose of wearing this kind of pants if I will just wear flats with it.  I opted for a more smart casual look on this day because sometimes, suits can be really annoying especially on a summer day.

THE SHIRT DRESS

I love multifunctional clothes.  This tunic can actually work several ways.  It can be worn with skinnies; tucked out or tucked in.  It can also be worn on its own like a dress; the way I did here.  I threw one my hub's vest in the ensemble for a grungier look.  I have worn this one autumn day so I had to wear high boots to keep me warm enough.
