SIDEWALK MUSINGS AT SOCAL

Hooray! I am back after about 2 months of absence in the blogging world.  The last time I published a blog post was the night before I left for sunny California.  Sorry but I've been quite busy for a while;  doing "tourist" stuffs while in America and then catching up with work when I got back here in Guangzhou.  So here is the first of the many series from my recent US trip and I will bring you to quite a number of cities and of course, a whole lotta OOTDs.

These pics were taken a few days after  I arrived in Wildomar, California and honestly, these were the days when I was still a bit jet lagged from the trip and the time zone difference.  California is really beautiful and those clouds and blue skies almost seem too good to be true.  Everything was so blue!  Weather was a bit chilly though, I had to wear a jumper under a leather jacket to keep me warm.  But it was nothing I couldn't handle.

WHAT I WORE:
gray jumper from H&M
black biker jacket from a Chinese online store
charcoal gray jogger pants from H&M
Pandora sling bag from Givenchy
eyewear from Miniso
knee high boots from Bootsies

OCEAN PARK FRILLS

amazed by the roller coaster

I visited Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai (almost Coloane, Macau) which is said to be  the biggest ocean park in the whole world yesterday. It was indeed an interesting trip that I will probably blog about one of these days.  However, it was also a very tiring one-thanks to the sweltering heat and then the sudden thunderstorm in the afternoon.  I knew beforehand that it might be a gruelling hot day because summer is just around the corner here in China.  In times like this, I make sure that what I wear won't get in the way of comfort or else I will end up feeling grumpy the whole day.  My mood changes if I end up sweating a lot under the sun or if I get tired from so much walking; no matter how interesting the place is.

So for this trip, I made sure to wear some cotton top and bottom.  I didn't want to wear a skirt because I want to be able to move around with ease so I chose a pair of culottes.  This bottom is actually a vintage one; a hand me down from my grams a few years before she passed away.  I did not want to wear a tank top primarily because this trip is a part of a company related trip so I still wanted to look quite presentable at some point.  Thus, I chose this cold shoulder top.

WHAT I WORE:
cold shoulder top from ALORA
culottes from my grandma
bag from GIVENCHY
flats from SHISHANG
eyewear from MINISO
choker from ACCESSORIZE
necklace with cross pendant from ESHA

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK

In case you haven't noticed yet, I am a woman who loves her colors and I can seldom go for a week without actually wearing something in full color.  However, even if I wear a colourful outfit, I make sure that there is still some basic hues to balance the brightness of it all.  Usually, black works well for me in these kind of situations.  Allow me to gush over this pair of shoes too!  Something I got for an unbelievable price of 30RMB (4$ or 200 PHP).  Yes, I do get overly excited over good cheap finds from time to time.  I like the quirky design of the heels and the buckle too.

WHAT I WORE:
black vest from NACRE
orange chiffon top from H&M
culottes from H&M
bag from GIVENCHY
shoes from VALESKA
eyewear from MINISO
choker from ALYSSA

BLACK ALL THE WAY

An edgy ensemble for a Friday work look.  Usually, if I want an elegant black look, I will go for gold accents and accessories.  On the other hand, if I want to go for an edgy and relaxed black aura, I go for silver like the stuffs featured here.  Since I paired this dress with gladiator sandals; it almost goes without saying that silver is the best way to accessorise it.

WHAT I WORE:
black dress from KOREAN ONLINE SHOP
gladiator sandals from CHINESE ONLINE SHOP
cross necklace from my daughter's stuffs
silver chain necklace from LUXESHOP
cuff bangles from H&M
pandora bag from GIVENCHY
watch from LOCMAN

PALM SPRINGS DREAMIN'

While everyone is at the Coachella event this weekend, here I am dreaming of the desert ; of Palm Springs and the music.  Coachella would have been great for a fashion and music enthusiast like me.  I would have gone if I don't have to think about work or the fambam.  And since I am not there physically, then I would just rather celebrate the event through clothing style, of course!  So here is the first of my Coachella series and if you have been following my insta, then I already gave a glimpse of some of the styles I came up with.  Watch out for the details of those in my upcoming blogposts.

So for this look, I love the bohemian print of this jumpsuit and if only it isn't a jumpsuit, I would wear this to work most of the time.  No, I don't have an aversion towards jumpsuits, in fact, I usually love it.  But I wouldn't wear it to work because it can be a nuisance when you are in a hurry in the loo. :-)   Paired it with a flowy top that I used as an outerwear here.  Since my prints are quite loud already, I opted for a solid hue to make the jumpsuit color pop.

WHAT I WORE:
jumpsuit from H&M
flowy top used as an outerwear from FOREVER 21
pandora bag from GIVENCHY
eyewear from MINISO
boots from H&M

earrings and bangles H&M

SWEATER WEATHER

This weather is driving me crazy.  Just when I thought it will be continously warm because heck!it is already spring, it suddenly dropped again. I only had two hours of sleep and the weather makes it harder to get out of bed.  The only consolation I have is that the sun is out today; a far cry from the gloomy rainy weather these past few days. I had to bring out this fuzzy sweater again (well, I have three of this...the danger of soeed online shopping folks!) .  I will still be doing lots of drawings again today so I have to be comfortable and besides it is Friyay Friday anyway.  I paired it with a classic colored culottes and knee high boots for warmth.  The scarf is a handy accessory especially when the weather drops even lower.  Who knows what can happen with this bipolar weather, yeah?

WHAT I WORE:
black and white skull print sweater from an online shop
Gray culottes from H&M
Boots from ALDO
scarf from SHIQIAO THRIFT SHOP
Large Pandora messenger bag from GIVENCHY
eyewear from MINISO
